Becoming A Peacekeepers For The Rest & Peace That Whitney Family Asking For

Good Evening Everyone,

We apologize for the disturbance on such a sacred and beautiful Sunday, but this has been brought to our attention today.

We’d like to thank EVERYONE that has donated to the GoFundMe account. Without your donations, we would’ve not been able to go through with Whitney’s funeral and we graciously thank you for it. It’s sad to say that people are starting rumors over a GoFundMe account that deals with a deceased person. We feel that each and everyone one of you deserves to know the truth about this GoFundMe account. We initially decided not to speak about this misunderstanding out of respect for Whitney, but since rumors have started we have decided to address and finish these rumors.

As of now, the GoFundMe states:

“We would like to apologize for all the misunderstandings over this GoFundMe account. This account was made on the day Whitney passed without our consent. It took us, Whitney’s family over a week to gain full access to the account.

As of Tuesday, March 20, 2018 at 2:00pm; Whitney’s family finally had complete access and full control of this gofundme account.

We’d like to thank each and every person who has contributed their time, prayers, and support to Whitney. Thank you so much and God bless you and your families.”

The following is a statement from Whitney’s mother. It has been translated from Spanish to English:

“I was not in a normal state of mind to be asked questions. On the same day Whitney died, (while Melanie and I were at the funeral home trying to start the preparations for Whitney’s funeral) I was asked to give permission to make a GoFundMe account, but again I was not in my right mind to be making such important decisions and just said “I don’t know”. My English is limited and I don’t even know what GoFundMe is. On March 13th, 2018, I was not worried about opening a GoFundMe account. At that point in time I was not worried about any money or how my family was going to raise funds for Whitney’s funeral. My only priority was to start the funeral preparations and take care of my only grandson. I did not ask anyone to start a GoFundMe account, it was offered. I had no idea that those accounts existed, it never crossed my mind. Thanks to this GoFundMe account being made by and under someone that isn’t from Whitney’s family, I now have terrible problems with Whitney’s father and other family members from Whitney’s side. They’re accusing me and my family and even Whitney of fraud. To this day, some of them believe that she is still alive. Various family members from Whitney’s side did not go to neither of the services due to this GoFundMe account. They’re very angry towards me and they will never forgive me for this. Having this GoFundMe account under the wrong name has caused and is still causing lots of confusion, tears and hate towards me. I sincerely want to thank everyone who has donated towards Whitney’s Funeral. God bless you and thank you for everything. And to those who are spreading rumors, I would appreciate it if you would let Whitney rest in peace. It’s embarrassing to know that people are spreading rumors over an account that we never created and never had the control of until recently. If you loved Whitney so much, why don’t you just leave her in peace?”

We acknowledge that the GoFundMe was made with nothing but pure intentions and we truly appreciate that, but it was made without our consent. If you loved Whitney please show class and respect to her family and more importantly Whitney herself. If you have any comment or concerns about this matter, please contact me Melanie at (346)- 204-9964. Do not contact my mother, as she is still trying to cope with everything. You’re welcome to share this.

Thank you and Happy Easter!
